Business Whanganui – Chamber of Commerce Membership Agreement

 

As a member of Whanganui Chamber of Commerce & Industry Incorporated (“Business Whanganui”), you (and your staff) agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Membership Agreement.

 

1.  Constitution

By becoming a member, you agree to abide by the provisions of the Whanganui Chamber of Commerce & Industry Incorporated’s current Constitution.

 

2.  Membership Approval

  • Membership applications are subject to review and approval by the Business Whanganui Board.
  • The Board reserves the right to decline any application at its discretion, without providing a reason.
  • Membership becomes effective only upon approval and confirmation by Business Whanganui.

 

3.  Membership Term, Renewal & Resignation

  • Memberships are annual and renew automatically each year.
  • To resign your membership, the key contact or a company director should email ceo@businesswhanganui.nz.
  • Membership will be considered resigned once written notice is received.

 

4.  Membership Subscriptions

  • The first subscription payment for new members is due within 14 days of the invoice date.
  • Monthly and quarterly payment arrangements are available — by arrangement with the Chief Executive.
  • Membership subscriptions will be invoiced on the anniversary of the month of joining. Payment is due by the 20th of the following month.
  • Business Whanganui reserves the right to adjust membership fees annually at the discretion of the Board.

 

5.  Member Benefits and Logo Use

  • Members can access all benefits and services available for their membership tier.
  • Members may use the Business Whanganui – Chamber of Commerce logo for the duration of their membership but may not use it to endorse or promote specific products or services.
  • Associate Members are welcome to participate in Business Whanganui activities but do not have voting rights.

 

6.  Member Conduct

Members agree to:

  • Conduct themselves professionally and in the best interests of the Whanganui business community.
  • Recognise that Business Whanganui reserves the right to revoke membership where the Board determines that a member’s conduct or behaviour is injurious to the interests, reputation, or values of Business Whanganui or its members.

 

7.  Limitation of Liability

Business Whanganui is not liable for any loss, damage, or costs incurred by a member arising from:

  • Use of services offered by another member;
  • Advice given or services provided by a third-party provider (even where introduced by Business Whanganui); or
  • Failure to deliver specific member benefits where the failure is caused by circumstances beyond Business Whanganui’s reasonable control.

 

8.  Publication and Privacy

  • Members authorise Business Whanganui to publish their business name, address, phone number, website, and business description in the publicly available online Member Directory.
    • Members who prefer not to be listed may request exclusion.
  • Photographs of members taken at Business Whanganui events may be used in marketing materials, the website, and social media.
    • Please advise us if you do not wish your photo to be used.
  • Business Whanganui complies with the Privacy Act 2020 and its own Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use, and storage of personal information.

 

9.   Confidentiality

All information held in the membership database is confidential and used solely by Business Whanganui for purposes related to membership, services, and communication.
