About our Host

Kathy Cunningham founded Empire PR in Auckland in 1992 and built it to be an award-winning event and PR agency.

She is a respected and valued judge for the PRINZ (Public Relations Institute of New Zealand) and NZEA (New Zealand Events Association) Awards.

Passionate about learning, Kathy recently gained her APR with PRINZ, and studied for three years at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Demonstrating a commitment to sharing her knowledge and expertise, Kathy co-wrote the Integrated Marketing Communications syllabus for third-year Communications students at AUT.

Kathy and her team of experts were responsible for the first carbon neutral event in NZ with the Auckland Seafood Festival, and here in Whanganui, Kathy was responsible for managing the New Zealand Masters Games and Artist Open Studios in 2016.
