Michelle’s bio:

Michelle is chief strategist and CEO of The Antipodean. She has spent over 20 years at the forefront of digital product and experience at digital and ad agencies. A majority of that time was spent in San Francisco, with stints in Australia, Aotearoa and New York. In 2016 she founded The Antipodean, a consultancy focused on immersive technologies such as XR (augmented and virtual reality), AI, and spatial computing.

Michelle has consulted on immersive technology strategy with Clorox, Hoyts, Chipotle, Swiss Telecom, Cruise (autonomous vehicles), Meta Quest, Logitech, BIC, Isuzu + many more. She has given talks and workshops at TED Women, Spikes Asia, Microsoft Mixed Reality Labs, guest-lectured at various schools including Miami Ad School, Wharton and NYU, and created a three-part metaverse series for the American Marketing Association.

She believes immersive technology has the potential to make our digital lives more human, and more integrated with the real world. Her specialty lies in translating complexity into relatable experiences and steps for everyone, and helping you figure out why and how you may employ immersive tech in your vocation or business.

Michelle relocated to Whanganui from Oakland in late 2023. She looks forward to lending her expertise to innovation initiatives in her new hometown, and Aotearoa in general.
