DESCRIPTION:This month’s Business After 5 is hosted with the Whanganui City Mission — an organisation that plays a unique role in our community. \nWorking at the frontline\, the City Mission is more than a service provider. It is a distribution hub\, a place of connection\, and an advocate for dignity — supporting people through some of the most challenging circumstances. \nThat work is under increasing pressure. Rising food insecurity\, cost of living pressures\, limited employment opportunities\, and growing social challenges are all being felt locally. At the same time\, more responsibility is shifting to organisations like the City Mission to respond. \nAlongside this\, the Mission is leading a significant fundraising effort — “Unlocking Home & Hope for City Mission.”This campaign is focused on securing a permanent home in the heart of the city through the purchase of its central building. \nOwning the site would reduce up to $70\,000 each year in rent and related costs — funding that could instead go directly into food\, essential items\, and practical support for Whanganui families. \nThis evening is an opportunity to step inside that work. \nJoin us at 9 Park Place on 23 April to hear directly from the team\, see what’s happening on the ground\, and understand how this campaign will strengthen their ability to support our community. \nAs always\, there will be time to connect with others across the Business Whanganui network. \nWe encourage you to be part of this one. \nRSVP below to help the City Mission with catering requirements. \nStay up to date with happenings at the City Mission Whanganui and find out how to donate to their building fun – follow on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/citymissionwhanganui/
